ADAS Calibration

ADAS

Major car manufacturers now include an assist system called ADAS in vehicles, which increases on-road safety using a human-machine interface.

Advanced Driver Assist Systems Birmingham (ADAS) are designed to reduce the chances of accidents by notifying the driver about potential hazards in real-time, or by executing the necessary precautionary actions automatically.

At Smart MOT & Service Centre, our ADAS-trained technicians use only state-of-the-art ADAS calibration equipment for your convenience. Please book an appointment if you need a consultation or professional assistance.

How does an ADAS work?

Driver-assist systems in a car receive inputs from multiple automotive imaging sensors, including LiDAR, Computer Vision, RADAR, in-car networking, and other input sources. Modern vehicles have ADAS integrated into the vehicle electronics and feature cameras and RADAR sensors in the grille, bumper, windscreen, etc.

Some higher-end models like Nissan Kicks, Toyota Camry, Hyundai Tucson, and 2020 Chevrolet Silverado feature 360-degree cameras that can detect obstacles at the sides and rear as well.

When these sensors detect a stationary object in its range, it will flash a warning light or play a sound until the driver slows or stops the car. If there is no action from the driver, these sensors will automatically instruct the vehicle electronics to apply the brakes and avoid a collision.

When to opt for ADAS calibration Birmingham?

Since these safety systems respond to inputs from various cameras and sensors, even a minor misalignment can have adverse effects on your on-road safety. Thus, you should ideally opt for ADAS calibration at least once in 2 years.

Additionally, these sensors can get misaligned after maintenance services such as windscreen replacement, accidents, mechanical repairs to the steering and suspension system, and other bodywork repairs.

Experts at our facility – Smart MOT & Service Centre - can calibrate many safety features such as Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection, and Parking Assist among others with minimum turnaround time.
